Imbrue: Sir Eveland’s Sexy, Historical Word of Wednesday, Oct-19-2016

Imbrue is one of those sexy words I wrote down in hopes of using it in a sexy way sometime, but I still haven’t used it yet. Not to be confounded with imbueimbrue means to stain, especially your sword or hands in blood. It’s a verb, pronounced exactly how it’s spelled. Its perfect synonym is stain. The word imbrue has been developing for roughly 500 years, deriving from both Middle French and Middle English, though it is very uncommon in speech today (my auto-correct believes it’s not a real word). With that said, I wouldn’t be surprised if you know it already.

Happy daydreaming.
